Compare "My Average" to Swimmers "Like Me"

Focus lets you choose to compare your skill execution to your own averages or swimmers like you.

Focus creates different scores for your phases and metrics based on which "Compare" option you have chosen.

Focus is based on your skill execution and is linked to objective metrics, but your Focus Scores are not objective. They are scores relative to your own or others' average performances. That is where the "Compare" function comes into play.

Compare to "Myself"

TritonWear builds an evolving profile of each athlete's average skill execution. For example, it knows how many strokes are typical for a lap of freestyle in a 25m vs 50m pool. Or what the swimmer's average depth is at push-off vs the deepest part of their underwater phase.

Focus examines each workout and scores skill execution to highlight if execution is better or worse than usual.

This is a good way to see how skills were executed in a single training session or if a new level of skill is being acquired in the short term.

All progress graphs in focus reflect 'Myself' data.

Compare to "Like Me"

You can also compare yourself to other swimmers "Like Me" (based on the same competing gender, and a similar height and speed).

This view highlights which skills are considered strong, in a more objective sense, by looking how they stack up to the typical execution of peers. This is very useful for seeing what specific skills are strengths or weaknesses and identifying progress and plateaus to adjust training accordingly.
