Tips and Tricks for a smooth start to practice

  • Pool length: will be remembered after each session, so if you always swim at the same pool length, you'll have to hit submit each time. You can also enter custom pool lengths.

  • Athlete Selection: Only athletes with units turned on in the immediate vicinity will be available to connect to the workout. Therefore, it's important that athletes turn on their unit as they come on deck. If they are turned on, and in range of your device, they should be available. If they are not, they will be on the Unavailable list, and each will explain why the units are in that state.

  • Adding Late Athletes: You do not need to wait for all athletes to be selected to start a workout, but the workout MUST be started before swimming starts, as no data will be captured until the start workout button on the selection screen has been pressed. You can always add athletes to an in-progress workout.

  • Internet Access: In general, an internet connection is not required to run a workout. However, you do need Wi-Fi to log into the app. The good news is that logging in can be done well in advance. After you log in once, the app will remain logged in until you intentionally log out, force close the app, or delete it. So be sure to log in for the first time on your device before you head to the pool for practice if you don't have a good internet connection on deck. You will need an Internet connection after you have ended the workout to sync it to the cloud so that it can be stored viewed later.
  • Multiple Simultaneous Sessions: An athlete can only be paired with 1 active workout at a time. If there are multiple coaches on deck tracking different swimmers for a session, remember to select only the athletes you will be tracking during the session, not all available.

  • If there will only be 1 iPad tracking, but you want others to be able to see the workout in progress, project the workout to a larger screen on deck.
